Key Accountabilities
​

Designing, configuring, integrating, and implementing process control solutions using PLC, SCADA, and HMI platforms
-
Supporting the design, development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and administration of custom software applications and infrastructure technologies
-
Building new application features, troubleshooting software issues, and implementing bug fixes
-
Troubleshooting, installing, commissioning, and validating automation projects across a range of industries
-
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, electrical circuit schematics, and wiring diagrams
-
Proactively identifying automation opportunities in workflows, electronic information availability, and new system management tools
-
Collaborating with clients and team members to understand project goals and deliver solutions in their best interest
-
Providing real-time project updates to stakeholders and maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle
-
Recognizing when a second set of eyes is needed and drawing on the full capabilities of the Jordan team to deliver the best outcome
-
Supporting the growth of junior team members through mentorship and knowledge sharing
-
Maintaining skills documentation and staying current with evolving technologies and certifications
Requirements and Skills
-
3–7 years of hands-on experience spanning industrial automation, controls, and/or software development
-
Degree or diploma from an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Bachelor of Technology program
-
Proven experience with PLC programming, SCADA/HMI design, and control system commissioning
-
Strong knowledge of .NET development (VB/C#) in web-based and/or WinForms applications
-
Proficiency in MS SQL Server development and administration
-
Experience with web programming languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ASP
-
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across both hardware and software environments
-
Natural aptitude for building long-term client relationships and delivering exceptional client experiences
-
Sharp thinker who is able to grasp complex concepts, prioritize effectively, and manage your workload with autonomy
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Exceptional work ethic and the drive to deliver results for both clients and the team
-
Legally eligible to work in Canada, with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with automation hardware and software platforms such as Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Aveva (InTouch/OMI), or Ignition
-
Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC)
-
Industrial control panel design, including power distribution, layout, fusing, and thermal calculations
-
Experience with MS Azure technologies and platforms
-
Familiarity with VBA, ASP.NET, or API programming
-
Familiarity with networking, server setup, and virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V)
-
Understanding of or certification in cybersecurity technologies and best practices
-
Familiarity with AI tools and their practical application in engineering workflows, including areas such as computer vision, machine learning, or AI-assisted development

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Regular travel to client sites is expected; candidates should be comfortable working on-site at industrial and manufacturing facilities for varying periods

May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas, including safety glasses, hard hat, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots

May be exposed to varying environmental conditions including noise, temperature extremes, and dust typical of industrial environments

Manual dexterity required for use of computers, peripherals, and technical equipment

Occasional lifting or moving of equipment up to 25 lbs
